Trauma-informed care where families already seek help

The FACTS Initiative provides trauma-focused mental health care for children and families in trusted community settings.

Since 2018, FACTS has served more than 400 families. By bringing clinicians directly to partner sites, we reduce time to first session, support ongoing engagement, and help turn symptom relief into long-term family stability.

Over the past year, 90% of clients showed measurable clinical improvements, and partners report stronger retention in food, housing, and education programs.

What This Looks Like For Our Families

Watch Our founder, Gwen Harris, share the mission and vision that drive

We envision a Charlotte where every child and family has access to the care they need to heal from trauma and build healthy, connected lives regardless of income, identity, or circumstance. Our embedded care model compresses the timeline between trauma and treatment. This means turning months of waiting into days and converting increased engagement into measurable, long-term stability for families.

Thank You to Our Partners

We are proud to partner with local shelters, advocacy centers, and community organizations to bring trauma-informed mental health care directly to children and families who need it most. Together, we support individuals impacted by trauma, particularly those from historically underserved communities.

Community Partnership

When families are actively fighting for their basic safety and survival, seeking mental health care is not just difficult — it often is not even on their radar. What makes The FACTS Initiative unique is that we do not wait for people who are suffering to find their way to us. By embedding ourselves directly in the community and working alongside our partners to meet immediate needs, we bring healing directly to the people who need it most.
