The FACTS Initiative delivers trauma-informed mental health care for families in underserved communities. Our clinicians provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy in schools, shelters, and advocacy centers—meeting people where they are to support healing and resilience.
Founded in 2018 by clinicians Gwen Harris and Aisha Yesher-El, The FACTS Initiative was born from a shared vision to close the gaps in quality care for families often overlooked by traditional systems. Witnessing firsthand how trauma and limited access to services can harm children and parents, they built a space where expert, nonjudgmental, and culturally aware care could thrive.
Today, FACTS continues to grow as a trusted nonprofit providing accessible, trauma-informed therapy to children, youth, and parents in the Charlotte–Mecklenburg area. Through deep community partnerships, our team ensures every family receives the support, stability, and empowerment they deserve.
FACTS partners with local nonprofits and community organizations to ensure families in crisis can access care safely and quickly. This collaborative approach bridges gaps between mental health services and social support, helping families stabilize, heal, and build lasting hope.
